I don’t get why they didn’t just reduce the volume of the audio file? Why a) replace it wit a terrible substitute, then b) when everyone complains just reduce the radius of the noise.
They are also quieter now

Resource Packs, Peace and Quiet, Quieter Pistons.
I’ve been using this since 1.16, I could never go back to the constant KERCHUCKing.

I liked it too. The old one is nice too, but in a different way
I didn’t think the new ones were that great, but I do wonder how much of that is just nostalgia.
I started playing Minecraft before they were added (beta 1.5_01) so I have some nostalgia too but I still liked the new sound.
I’m sure someone will make a resource pack for them at some point.
Is there a link somewhere to hear the new (and removed) piston sound?
