Most of the games in AA that I played have been reworked to remove monetisation while their regular App Store versions offer freemium model only.

If you own an iPhone just get Apple Arcade through Apple One, it’s really worth it if you game on your phone. No predatory monetisation, regular self-contained games, plenty of high quality titles.

I understand that half of the world is currently healing psychological trauma from the US election results but Atlus has been commenting on politics in their games for much longer.

Apple Arcade is still going and getting plenty of releases. I don’t know anyone buying it specifically but including it in Apple One (competitively priced subscription for most Apple services) means lots of people have access to it. Me and my partner use it a lot. It’s very nice knowing that those games won’t try to shove microtransactions down my throat.

Based on some Amazon listing warnings, it seems that MacOS only lets you use one of those ports to extend your display, the other would be just for mirroring.

I think this is because base M1-M3 can only drive single external display in MacBooks.

Nobody is saying it’s going to run well on the entire range of hardware but in terms of performance GPUs in Pro and Max versions of their SoCs are closer to a discrete GPU than something integrated.

I wait for a Digital Foundry tech review before making a purchase on AAA game these days. They tackle what’s quantifiable and add their thoughts on the game in general which is about as much as I need from a professional outlet.

Apple Watch is not so bad, it’s common for smartwatches to require proprietary charging pucks. At least this one also charges my AirPods.

Technically Mac OS should remember external display layout but can bug out on display ID changing or not being available quickly enough.

I haven’t tried displayplacer but it looks like something that might be worth checking out, especially notes on buggy displays in readme file. If command line is no go then I wouldn’t be surprised if BetterDisplay Pro didn’t have this kind of functionality since I don’t think there is anything display related this thing can’t do.

With Apple’s glacial but consistent speed of fixing those annoyances recently I hope we’ll see this implemented in the next 5 to 20 years. Fingers crossed!
