  • I hate

    • quick time events,
    • minimaps,
    • questmarker,
    • RPGs without story changing decisions,
    • random generated loot (drop chance is fine),
    • lack of class or profession decision (one character can do all sucks),
    • random generated weapon/gear stats
    • coop where process isn’t shared to every player. Requires a multiple saves system to allow single player, as well as coop play, saves.
    • enemy level scaling with player level,
    • fully breaking weapon without being able to repair them
    • bound items. Seriously, this needs to stop. I’d like to share my gear with guild mates or my other characters. I want to be able to sell a good item again if I don’t need it. But so far only Ragnarok Online managed to do this well, that I know of.
    • MMORPG with fixed marketplace, like fixed prices, build in price statistics etc. ruining a possible economy focused gameplay in favor of the lazy and dumb players, who complain… because they are not skilled enough.
    • non MMORPGS with NPC that don’t move or have daily activities. Gothic did this so we’ll decades ago, I thought this would be standard by now
    • any pay2win element
    • any pay2skip grind purchases
    • any quality of life wallet gated
    • Battle-pass, season-pass, fomo bullshit

    What I love

    • weather and seasons
    • music instruments, music class or weapons
    • hidden treasures you need to dig for or find treasure maps
    • NPC that have activities and are not glued to their vending table
    • animal follower
    • jumpsuit/glider
    • destroyable environment/footsteps
    • weapon degradation and maintenance
    • professions and weapon/gear crafting
    • alchemy like in Kingdom Come Deliverance
    • NPC that tell you where to go, instead of a questmarker and path showing you where to go,
    • able to respec my stat points only
    • verticality in Level Design, like Dark Souls 1
    • fishing with a bit of a challenge other than just pushing a button in time
    • character customization, hair, skin, body size, height, voice
    • fashion slots, like Terraria and now also Cyberpunk2077
    • changing cities through actions I did in the game. NPC got killed, house destroyed/build etc.

  • Many months before a game is released, the game is feature complete and they only fix bugs. Do you believe a single publisher will delay the release of a still buggy game because of the lack of preorders? No way. They’ll release it anyways, because fixing bugs takes time, takes money and if there’s already low pre-order numbers, they as well can decide that this extra money spend isn’t worth it.

This whole don’t preorder topic is illogical. My favorite comment so far on Reddit was: " but people forget to refund". That’s their issue and not of pre-orders.lol

If anything the publisher sees interest in the game from preorders and will found/agree to more DLC or sees enough interest to greenlight the sequel right away. Which both is great for the devs. Maybe even delays a buggy game, because all the pre-order could guarantee a giant success, which would only be possible if the game is mostly bug free. You see you can easily twist the argument around.

  • Currently I use Connect Lemmy for Android as with Jerboa there was a login issue when the server version wouldn’t match. Not sure if this app is more resilient to this but it wasn’t a good start. I couldn’t use Lemmy properly for about a week or two. I also don’t like that Lemmy is hard to search for new SubLemmy or search for results via Google. Before I just added “Reddit” to get the good results, I wonder how this will evolve if Lemmy gets bigger. Well and the whole kbing/Lemmy/mastodon link of the Fedyverse is really confusing for new people.

  • Thanks to AI a lot will change. People won’t longer feel as alone, as they can talk to a live like bot whenever they need. We can talk to deceased relatives, that we recorded, as if they’d still be alive.

AI has found genetical, chemical and other biological combinations we can’t imagine yet. Devices will monitor our heath, stress and environment and counter act automatically, making people happier, healthier and younger than they we could ever imagine. Most new diseases can be cured or immunized against incredible quickly before a large population is effected. At least in the western world this won’t be unaffordable expensive anymore.

A lot of mathematical issues have been solved, creating advanced machines that create even more advanced machines. We’ll have unlimited energy through nuclear fusion. Quantum computing is becoming mainstream as we managed to make them portable in a first.

Genetical crops have solved most food issues and while we probably still suck at distributing it properly. The environment is still dirty and some countries even still throw their trash into the ocean, the overall planet is much cleaner than ever, as we found ways to clean up the air and parts of the ocean.

The world moved closer together to combat AI produced fake news and created some world news like corporation, to combat it with real journalism and a lot of transparency. Creating an overall more healthy and less propaganda and clickbait driven information portal, people started to mostly trust in in desperation of not losing track of what’s real and what’s AI written.

And in a last part, AI generated videos and images of NSFW content have desensitized people so much that the whole gossip and media outrage about it has silenced. America is still trying to censor nipples though.
