This year I‘ll be able to upgrade to 25/25Gbps and I‘m planning on using at least 20Gbps for seeding 24/7. Is any maintainer of private trackers interested in inviting me?

How much will you be paying for a 25Gbps connection? And where do you live for these speeds to be available? Where I live 1Gbps is the max since a few years ago and costs 80€.

Can’t help you with private trackers except recommending taking the invite for RED/OPS. TL sometimes does open signups and is solid for english content. MAM has a friendly and active community, so I definitly recommend joining them (if you’re interested in books/audiobooks).

In Switzerland, the ISP Init7 is offering all their connections for CHF 777.- (USD 861.-) per year and you just get the maximum speed, which is currently 25/25Gbps. This provider is well known for fighting for net neutrality and being against any censorships or mass surveillance. I just love them very much and wish that other countries would have such awesome ISP‘s as well.

Be carefull, the ISP may be well-meaning to torrenting, however that doesnt change that technically, uploading unlicensed content is not legal in switzerland.

As well as breaking other laws (by downloading/spreading extremist content for example) can get you in trouble still.

*Apparently it seems that in switzerland Games for example are in a different legal category from a Movie and such and are technically also illegal to upload. Though I dont really think rhant a private person just suddenly gets into major trouble because of this.

Thanks for the heads up. I am well aware of this. Obviously I would try not to get too much attention and would probably block all Swiss clients from accessing my server. Having legal issues internationally at that scale without any money involved is unlikely. But that‘s just my hypothesis.

Edit: only because I‘m a pirate does not mean I have no moral values. I would never want to distribute heavily illegal content. Only copyrighted content.

Hmm I wonder if that even makes a difference, uploading content to other swiss people or uploading content to someone from, say italy.

Don‘t forget that the copyright law is a civil law, so there needs to be someone being able to proof to have suffered from any damages. Having a law case within a border is usually much cheaper to having one internationally, because every country has a different law system and you need a lot more lawyers, just to then find out there was no damage. So the risk of paying a lot of law fees without getting any damages covered is just too high. Obviously, it makes sense that big studios will try to hunt down big trackers, but I think even with my 25/25Gbit I am far away of being an interesting target, especially on an international level. At least this is how my view on this is.

Seems like they are using CGNAT, which means you won’t be able to connect to some peers who are also not connectable due to both closed ports. One must open their port to establish connections.

They can surely remove you from CGNAT but for extra cost. I think paying for seedbox is much cheaper.

I just checked and only for the cheaper subscription they use CGNAT. So I will not be affected by it.

Bandwidth has literally never been a problem on any tracker. BitTorrent made bandwidth concerns obsolete over 20 years ago, as long as files are well-seeded.

You will have to pay your dues like everybody else.

Yes, you should enjoy it! But it will not get you any invites. Which, incidentally, you should not be asking for in public forums. It’s frowned upon. A lot.

I had to start somewhere, I think everyone is able to understand that. I was not even asking for specific invites, just in general. Maybe there is someone trying to run a new private tracker and is in need of seeding power. Without asking, I would never know.

Bandwidth is one part… Storage is theother and usually you have less storage than bandwidth anyways.

Very true. Currently I‘m only at about 45TB of space, but could extend it fairly easily to 198TB or more.

sorry bud but no one is gonna invite you. since you are gonna up your speeds the best you can do is join RED through their interview and race till you reach Torrent Master or Elite Torrent Master and then get into other trackers through their official invite forums.

well usenet is a fairly better option too right (if you are in top usenet indexers)? why are you trying to move to private trackers now?

Not everyone is able to afford subscriptions of indexers and hosters. I just would like to contribute to the community with what I have.

I’m fairly sure I have invites to one or both of tleech & tday. Will check later.

Do you want to supplement your usenet sources? If so, what type of content/language are you looking for? Do you have any proof like screenshots of the old times left?

Things that should be answered before anyone would consider giving away an invite, because that is also a liability.

Yeah, I will keep on using usenet and just would use torrent as a supplement or additional source. Mainly only interested in movies/shows and games. But to be honest, I don‘t mind seeding other stuff for a couple of weeks, but will eventually have to delete it to save some space for the things I really want.

Maybe there are some screenshots on some old IDE drives or chatlogs of IRC, but I‘d have to invest a lot of time with low chances of finding something useful. So please, don’t trust me blindly. I know that trust has to be built first and that private communities can be fragile at times. So your questions are very valid and relatable :)

Step 1: Join the private trackers that allow you.

Step 2: Create a setup that will grab and seed every freeleech known to man.

Step 3: Seed to capacity. Give it all you’ve got.

Step 4: Post proofs when applying/trading/asking for invites and watch as people shit their pants as you prove you can seed 1 Petabyte at every tracker.

It’s all about proof. You can go to employers and say “I’m the best engineer.” And maybe you are. But they don’t care.

Show them your portfolio of the bridges you’ve built, the parts you’ve designed, the projects you finished.

Show them proof. Put your worth on the table. And they will let you in.

You have the connection. Now you just need a fuck ton of storage to seed like a crazy person on that connection. Tons of NVMEs, and I hope your ISP doesn’t nab you for any torrents, hopefully not for private.

With enough storage and the right setup, you could be at like 400TB on every tracker in a year. Problem is you’ll probably run out of freeleech’s on smaller trackers, but on a bigger one you could fill up your storage, put your connection to work, and seed your way up the ladder.

When you have 3-5 accounts from good trackers with tons of buffer, that’s your key to getting in. Go interview at MaM and start there. Seed seed seed, and go from there.

Buy lots of storage, maybe set up a dedicated server at home for your awesome connection. Keep adding all the MaM freeleeches every 2 weeks. Never delete them. You’ll be at a kabillion in like a year. You’ll also have about 12TB of seeding just for MaM, but hey, that’s how you do it.

Fast connection, tons of storage, good workflow/setup. That’s how you win.

Because PTs want people with a fast connection, tons of storage…and a setup they can prove they know how to use. It shows you’ll be a good member.

Having a fast connection is only one aspect. You have to show the PT world that you know how to use it and post stats to prove it.

Also, ripping and uploading rare/new content helps, if you can do that too. Being an uploader totally proves your worth.

Do all that, screenshot your account stats after all that seeding, and you can get in anywhere. Show them you mean business. 300TB account, 1000:1 ratio. Impress them. You’ve got the connection for it.

Yep, I know, that‘s why I was looking for people who are the owners of the trackers and just need someone with decent bandwidth. Other than that it is just a game of patience.
