I actually like the idea that reddit and Lemmy do a cross platform. If content creators on fediverse can post to fediverse and reddit they wouldn’t have opportunity cost in moving to the fediverse and moving content from reddit to Lemmy would give More content
Apparently instances can share IP with each other but only for problematic ip addresses. It’s not part of the protocol to give up address of the user
