DM me. I’ll hook you up.
I not a dev or anything. But my understanding is that it all comes down to leveraging all the capabilities of 1 single hardware configuration. You can tune and optimize your code to extract every bit of performance out of the consoles hardware because the hardware (and software too I guess) doesn’t change. PC games are much MUCH harder to optimize. Users can have a near limitless variety of hardware, driver, and OS combinations that prevent such a high level of optimization.
Flash a stripped down rom like LineageOS with minimal google services. De-crappify it. They are well supported and documented on XDA.
Ive never used a chromecast. Can they be flashed and de-googled?
I like Android overall, but I try and avoid as much google as I possibly can.
I made the mistake of using the LG smart tv features for like 2 years. I set up a pihole to block ads and eventually WebOS just quit working because ads and trackers did t work anymore. I factory reset the tv and switched over to a Roku stick. That worked well for nearly 4 years. Now I’m on a $19 ONN 4k streaming stick from Walmart. It’s actually kinda beef for what it is. Made by Asus and flashed LineageOS on it. Audio drops out and requires a reboot every few days. I want to move to a Nvidia shield but haven’t had the funds for it because I’m in a kitchen remodel.
Nice try totally not in the FBI Garry!!!
I hate that. One of the reasons I dislike Samsung phones. Last phone from them was a Note 8 and unless they go back to a pure Android experience, I won’t get another. We know that isn’t happening any time soon.
Honestly I’m super over all our current choices. Im on an iPhone and while I like their privacy stuff slightly better than android, there are lots of things I don’t like.
I also hate how much metadata the big G snorts up. Even just the location data they retain is out of this world.
There just aren’t any options if you want something that doesn’t keep you boxed into a closed ecosystem or track every love you make.
I only have a 9tb array which is currently enough for my needs. I have uncapped municipal internet and fully saturate my 500mpbs down connection , consistently pulling 43.5mpbs download. I use atomic file linking so there is no unpacking of the file. It lives on a SSD cache drive until a “mover” copies the file to the array overnight. Unraid and docker containers work pretty damn well
I do everything self-hosted with an unraid box and a decently sized array for my needs. Runs Plex, Radarr, Sonarr, and SABnzb along with a bunch of other stuff. Works perfect for my needs. It just hums along and costs me like $10/month USD
I’ve given up on p2p. Too much risk and threatening letters from my ISP.
I made the switch to Usenet and private NZB trackers years ago and it has been great. Sometimes it may take a while to locate more obscure stuff, but eventually things show up. Even obscure made for tv movies from the early 1980s.
It’s running pretty decent now since that lastest couple patches. But I haven’t pushed a city up past 60k population yet. I’m still a bit sore they didn’t implement bicycles. Should have been baked in at launch.
