  • As a lover of RTS games, I am cautiously excited. A friend and I were talking the other day and we came to a realization that might sound mundane. Some of the things we miss about older games (specifically RTS) is that balance is so much more important now that a lot of the time, character and uniqueness get lost. If things aren’t as close to perfectly balanced as possible, gamers get real angry. There were some truly unbalanced RTS games that were incredibly fun. Battle for Middle Earth had some great mechanics that were incredibly fun, but I don’t many would say those games were balanced lol

  • Not OP, but as someone who uses discord every day, I think I can speak to the general criticism. Discord has way more bloat than what is needed by most out of a communications program. They’ve continued to add “features” that a lot of the user base doesn’t really care about, but take up visual space and operating space. Discord Nitro ads are also on the list of criticisms as it’s nearly constant. I love having a place to easily interact with communities I care about, but if somehow a less “noisy” alternative came along and everyone I care about moved (lol), I’d change in a heartbeat and uninstall discord.

  • Very interesting read lol. I think part of it is definitely to encourage repeat purchases. If you like a product and for the layman there is no way to maintain it, you’ll probably buy it again. More money for them! In regards to the interface being terrible… The only reason I could think would be overly cautious on avoiding injury? If there are so many tactile requirements, your fingers can’t be ground, which means no lawsuit. Who knows why companies decide certain things. (Like Chrome making you have to choose custom for page amount instead of auto populating the field and making me take an extra step)
