Oh wow, I totally forgot about doing that as well! I think I spent the better part of a day getting it work, then “played” it for all of two or three minutes.
Musician, nerd, anxious.

I had completely forgotten about iPod games! I think there was one called Vortex that I liked a lot and there was also game version of the show LOST that I only played because I was a mega-fan of the show that was otherwise very frustrating.
Also a great example of why DRM sucks.
Well that’s just super neat! I will absolutely be giving it a go sometime soon. Thanks for sharing and for building!
That actually looks bizarrely fun!
Does Yunohost use containers like CasaOS? I’ve been using CasaOS for miscellaneous home stuff, but I can’t explain or justify it, I just don’t like containers.
Perhaps lower the contrast a bit? Use some gray and charcoal color? Presently it looks like what I see when I have migraine aura… and I don’t intend that to be mean or anything!
I agree with you, people end up going the perceived “easy route” because of the amount of explaining and low level protocol exposure that they receive from someone who is trying to sell them on joining an ActivityPub network. And that’s just the people who are trying to encourage them to join, then there’s the people that straight up think “normal social media” people don’t belong on the fediverse because of one biased reason or another…
I was just wondering if that still existed a few days ago. Glad to know it does. I like knowing the impossible is attainable.
It really is! I can’t wait for the future where I take a couple cheap and used M1 Mac minis and run Linux servers on them.
Yes, there absolutely is a lot of integrations and even if a consumer level SoC existed that could run arm64 macOS, it might not last long as all Apple would have to do is slightly change some aspect of their particular architecture and it would stop working. I don’t expect it to ever happen, but then again, I never expected macOS on x86 either.
Asahi, by the way, it’s astounding how far they’ve come with porting over to Apple Silicon. I haven’t had the itch strong enough yet to give it a go, but I will eventually.
An interesting and, sadly, accurate read. I will miss building my Hacks, but I knew as soon as Apple announced their switch to arm64 that the good times were over.
Maybe sometime in the future we’ll have a powerful and open arm64 system that we can somehow run Apple Silicon macOS on?
I don’t think so, not in this case. From what I understand the fact that the hardware exists on the watch is the problem. Back when something similar happened with FaceTime it was easier for Apple to deal with because they were able to fundamentally change how FaceTime works since it was entirely software.
I miss the days of lickable Mac OS X as well. Been meaning to set up a virtual machine to run Tiger or something.
I have the same issue with solarized. I find a totally black background with light gray text to be the best for me. It’s funny, I’ve had migraines my whole life and yet I ended up working with screens and screens are an integral part of my hobbies.
I had completely forgotten about that particular method of file delivery. I wonder how many other things I don’t remember as well?
I never tried Sonic on the iPod, but I bet it was ridiculous to control!
