+1 for drop dead gorgeous, my favorite comedy along with muppets from space.
2·3 months agoI heard about it when it was in development but hadn’t followed up! I still have escape velocity on my 2024 Mac but maybe I will check I out the loving homage.
Escape velocity (1996, ambrosia software game for macOS). My favorite computer game of all time I think.

4·3 months agoI am so curious. Tell me more about this? Can you share a link? What are the mines like- I’ve seen devs do escape room style challenges where you’re solving a progressive puzzle using dev tools, is it like that?
Every morning I take the dog outside for her morning walk, start the coffee, make the bed, and get her fed and settled. Then I’m at my desk and I do the Wordle, NYT mini crossword and connections puzzles (and send them to the family group chat). Then I play one game of online chess, losing very badly and analyzing my mistakes afterward. Now that I’m totally awake and having my coffee, I spend time with my spiritual routine, then start answering my emails around 9 (I’m a web developer and work from home).
I came here to post this and I wouldn’t have clogged up the thread with this useless comment except for your username. I salute you
American here: when I read that in my own accent I didn’t get it, so I backed up and read the punchline in an English accent and I laughed. Funny how that works
The new conversation awareness feature with the AirPods has made me aware of how often I talk to my dog and myself. So my audio gets muted even though there’s little chance of either one of us responding and requiring the audio volume to be lowered. Looking forward to exploring other new stuff!
Avelon is amazing. Feels like Apollo mostly. My only complaints are piddly stuff.

I was just mentioning Britanny Murphy’s performance to my husband the other day, she was such an island of (hilarious) sincerity in a perfect river of satire.
Also I think I say “it’d be real easy” like … once a week?
