This software allows you to use one keyboard and one mouse across multiple Windows, Mac and Linux systems with ease. I am in IT and use it between three desktops and laptops with different operating systems.

I bought Synergy when it was a kickstarter and I believe you can download and try it for free before you buy.

Old story: There was a sale at a big box Electronics store on Seagate Barracuda SCSI-2 Wide 9.1GB drives and I bought 6 of them to give me a 40GB RAID-5 on an old mylex dac960 scsi raid card. Bigtime storage in 1999.

You can basically get rack mount level performance from:

• Supermicro SuperWorkstation Tower Servers
• Lenovo Thinkstation P Series Server Towers
• HPE ML series Tower Servers
• Dell Precision Tower Workstations

In your situation, I’d be looking at ebay, serversupply, or other used hardware resalers that offer 2 generations back hardware. Used DDR4 based systems are abundant and cheap enough, go that route.

Glad I’m not the only one haha… I am similar to you: Started on Linux with Slackware 95 distributed via Walnut Creek publishing and mailed “gasp”. make menu;make menuconfig ftw! I still use Slack at home, but am a RHEL and SuSE guy by trade.
