  • My girlfriend finds showering and bathing extremely painful due to several very severe skin conditions. She’s also allergic to almost every deodorant that doesn’t cost a ridiculous amount. She doesn’t sweat a whole lot so it’s usually not an issue, and can get away with only one shower a week usually. Her conditions are pretty rare so I’m not saying everyone who doesn’t shower regularly has what she has, but there might be factors at play for some that give them legitimate reason not to shower. Or it could just be laziness

  • I like this line of thinking and hope we get more of it. Feels like a lot of people on this community are of the mindset that you have to either go all the way with online privacy or not at all. Going all in isn’t practical for the average individual and can scare people off. It’s just not worth it for a lot of people in their minds. Most people probably like the idea of privacy but aren’t willing to change phones and operating systems, use a completely different set of services, all that. I think we should focus on trying to help someone with what they’ve got rather than telling them they have to completely change the way they operate online. Give a list of settings to tweak, suggest an ad blocker, suggest alternative services but don’t make it sound mandatory, and don’t berate someone for using an iPhone or watching YouTube for example. Acting like that will probably scare people away and make them not want to interact with the community which would be a shame. It would also probably lead to them continuing to do mad online habits because they left before they could get educated. I think it’s about balance. Being slightly less anonymous online might be worth it if it means a considerably smoother experience, for the average person

  • I got an Apple silicon case for my 12 Pro, my girlfriend got one for her 13, my dad got one for his 12 Pro Max. All three fell apart rather quickly. My dad also had the Apple clear MagSafe case for his 12 Pro which broke in multiple places. I now use a Spigen slim MagArmour case, my dad uses the same once he upgraded to a 14 Pro Max. My girlfriend uses a clear magnetic case by Speck. All are in perfect condition still after a year of use each. My girlfriend, dad and I all have physical jobs of varying degrees. My mom also uses a Spigen case for her 12 Pro Max (the exact phone my dad had before the 14 PM) and has had no issues, though it’s worth noting she’s got an office job and she’s not at all hard on her phone cases.

When I was on android, I always used Spigen cases. I think I’ll stick with them when I upgrade my phone this year. I’ve also been tempted by Mous cases as I had one before which I quite liked, but they’re quite a bit more expensive than Spigen.
