It’s more than odd, it’s deception. He has been talking to his donators as if the money has been going to charities for years. He has named specific charities that haven’t received a single dime from them.

Even if his unbelievable story that he, the director of the charity, was unaware the charity never did anything charitable for as long as it has existed (this already makes him guilty of failing the donators by incompetence), he still lied about knowing where the money went for all those years to the donators and CONTINUED TO DO SO AFTER HE ADMITTED HE KNEW ABOUT IT.
Now he claims that he has been looking for worthy charities for over a year while he could easily just donate the money to the charities he has been talking about for years already.
You don’t have to sue them. Suing a multinational company will bankrupt you. Let the data protection authority handle this.
GDPR fines can scale to a company’s yearly revenue. They can absolutely get in more trouble than it’s worth if they keep blatantly shitting on the GDPR. Keep reporting them whenever you see these violations.
There’s a really low bar for what is considered personal data. If they collect location data coupled to an “anonymous” ID, it’s still personal data, because it shows you moving to your house and place of work every day. If you can infer a person’s identity from the data, it’s personal data.
So yeah them collecting your personal e-mail address and refusing to delete it is a clear violation of the GDPR.
The Netherlands had a recent court ruling that established that if the employer is satisfied with your performance, then it doesn’t matter how much time you spent doing your job. This was in a case recarding a man secretly working multiple jobs.

I mean it has it’s uses. You can consider it as a tower made up building blocks. We can write things into the blocks as we build the tower, and every block is inspected by people worldwide to make sure no one’s messing with it’s contents and they can’t be changed after the block has been placed.
