Oof. Passing is an archaic concept, just use the language for people that doesn’t make them feel uncomfortable.

☝️🤓 - ignoring the impact of inherently masculine gendered language on non-men sounding ass
Sincerely, a trans woman
A woman’s best friend 100%. Couldn’t live without mine.
For those more sensitive areas you want to make sure you’re getting a razor body where the blade doesn’t protrude as far. Henson shavers are incredible quality but I dont remember if they have a razor body suited for body hair.
The idea with these razors is to not apply much pressure, just letting the weight of the razor itself do the pressing. As long as youre doing that, and not holding it at a stupid angle, you should find it quite difficult to hurt yourself shaving your head. Same goes for your pubes, but if you’re going to shave your balls with it you’ll need to take a lot of care.
Theres plenty of rich people who want to kill trans folk too.
I’m not arguing against there being a huge issue around the uber rich. But people were racist and homophobic and transphobic and misogynistic with every kind of class divide. It doesn’t help that the uber rich are spreading this kind of ideology, but it would exist without them.
I mean, when one “culture” is seeking to eradicate lgbtqia+, poc, and women’s rights… Yeah, we can have a culture war and a class war.
Whoa - hyprland is made by a transphobe?
Edit: whoa it really is. I joined their discord and saw like, very strict anti-lgbtqphobic rules and thought that they must be good. But looking into him… Turns out the rules are there because he’d let it fester into a 4chan toxic hellhole
Flying spaghetti monster feels quite obvious
Beyond that I’m vegan so I’d eat snacks off Aphrodite’s belly, therefore snacking upon Aphrodite
As if peoples accents and vocabularies don’t grow and change over time?
I hope disco elysium and tunic are both in the rankings, because they’re probably two of the most perfectly crafted experiences in the last 20 or 30 years, never mind just 1 decade.
I don’t really dispute that but at least we are able to apply formal analytical methods with repeatable outcomes. LLMs might (and do) achieve a similar result but they do so without any formal approach that can be reviewed, which has its drawbacks.
Your argument was that everything should be gender neutralised. That has nothing to do with OP’s very innocent usage of a quote.
When did I drop a death sentence? Deary me, I advocate for using someone’s pronouns instead of applying they/them to everybody and you consider that a death sentence?
I never made any “AI bad” arguments (in fact, I said that they may be incredibly well suited to this) I just argued for the correct use of words and you hallucinated.
Bad faith argument.
Listing your pronouns isn’t force feeding anything to anyone. Observing someone’s listed pronouns takes less effort than having this discussion.
Using they/them and gender neutral language is helpful as a general rule, but if someone is absolutely fucking waving a flag of their gender, its wilfully ignorant at best and intentionally malicious at worst to disregard it.
You said “they literally do analyze text” when that is not, literally, what they do.
And no, we don’t “all know” that. Lay persons have no way of knowing whether AI products currently in use have any capacity for genuine understanding and reasoning, other than the fact that the promotional material uses words like “understanding”, “reasoning”, “thought process”, and people talking about it use the same words. The language we choose to use is important!
The person you’re replying to is correct though. They do not understand, they do not analyse. They generate (roughly) the most statistically likely answer to your prompt, which may very well end up being text representing an accurate analysis. They might even be incredibly reliable at doing so. But this person is just pushing back against the idea of these models actually understanding or analysing. Its slightly pedantic, sure, but its important to distinguish in the world of machine intelligence.
Its an honest mistake and I think if you appealed the ban you’d have a good case for it, however as you now know that’s the trans flag you can be more mindful in future :)
Gender is an incredibly validating concept specifically for some trans people, to write it off is unhelpful.
I mean this person seems to be not doing it maliciously. As they say, if it wasn’t them, it would be someone else. Pushing archive to improve their security is great for everyone. As long as this person doesn’t do anything actually malicious, they’re in the clear as far as I’m concerned.
And which minority group do you belong to that makes you an expert on their issues?
Alternate reply: oh no my feewings you win
