I appreciate this. That said, I was playing a game on my Steamdeck last night when this popped up over the game, while the game was running. Subsequently I died in the game. Kinda shit.

In keeping an eye on it. I use a rinky dink asustor solution for my photo storage and backups. It’s cludgy as all heck.
I enjoyed them but personally not as much as the original game. I realize it and myself are leftovers of a bygone era but there was much more imagination and whimsy in the OG game compared to the new remakes. The storyline changes, like I get why they are doing it to some degree but I don’t really enjoy it. Changes to the story start almost immediately.
At any rate I’m an old codger, perhaps don’t listen to the hardliners. Enjoy what you enjoy.
Usual precautions apply, the app does not bury the lede:
The project is under very active development. Expect bugs and changes. Do not use it as the only way to store your photos and videos!
The overall design is very similar, and you’ve even got the ‘stepped’ back (minus a cartridge slot, as this runs entirely on software emulation)
The author of this article doesn’t realize that FPGA hardware emulation doesn’t need a cartridge slot. Software emulation doesn’t preclude it either. Either way, the big difference here is that Analogue is FPGA hardware emulation and this new device is all software emulation. It is a nice looking device though!
The GBC game Metal Gear Ghost Babel is great. Story isn’t that relevant to the game play. Gameplay is more puzzle solving than anything else.
Making MiSTer clones without Intel’s DE-10 Nano is a huge breakthrough for open source fpga development. They found somewhere to source the cyclone SoC individually, allowing to customize its PCB specifically for the needs of FPGA console emulation.
The fact that they demonstrated and documented their process and have actually produced a product for purchase is a first.
Agreed. The motivation is profit. That said profit and aping a console’s appearance might put this project under the scrutiny of Sony’s legal department.
Taki Udon is already a legend. Can’t wait to see the handheld they talk about.
Really a nothing story:
“Pathea is committed to launching My Time At Evershine on PC, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and future Nintendo platforms yet to be announced,” the studio wrote in a press release, seemingly the first time someone has explicitly mentioned what could be a Switch 2 in marketing materials.
Nice, Peace Walker is a gem. Would love a remake using Phantom Pain’s engine.
Is shizuku a big vulnerability?
I need to make the move but feel like I’ll have to take a day off to backup, install, set up, and transfer my old stuff first.
I want my wifi toggle back dammit.
Edit: I’d also love not to be harassed when I turn off GPS google data addict freaks.
Ain’t like they’ll bleach it again.
Bot or Schizophrenia? That new game sweeping the globe.
Oh I know 😆. Setting a bar like this also has the ability to be memeified. Bonkers.
Considering sales of 2 were far below their expectations, I thought they’d be scaling back 3. At any rate, swing big or go home. Or conversely, maybe keep expectations in check?
I really need to play the MSX versions.
