I think this is an integration platform so you can automate a newsletter.
You’re right. I think ESD could run atop OSS and maybe even ALSA for a while. Not sure if it could operate without either. Those sure were interesting times.
Before ESD? I don’t recall. Spittle and prayers, I think. I vaguely recall having sound on my Sound Blaster 16 in my 486DX2, but… that was a long time ago.
E was black magic. The things it could do with such little hardware were mind blowing. And the ESD became the de facto sound standard before ALSA.
Doesn’t RH, SuSE, et al have it, though?
Years ago a friend of mine used to run a cyber cafe on Linux, with fully automated remote management. Have we regressed that much from there?
You’re berating them for their opinion and can’t understand why they’d self censor?
That’s a lot to unpack there (ba-dum-ts!). So Firefox has a specific Flatpak version that has a bigger attack surface? Or am I getting it wrong? A good bit of it flew over my head TBH.
Oh I’m proficient at the CLI. I just run a stable distro with a few Flatpaks for some select apps. So the packaged version of LW is quite out of date.
How dos it weaken the isolation?
The distro repo will update never. I have to balance being up to date with security vulnerabilities.
4 - my LibreWolf updates just fine with Flatpak. What’s up with yours?
Technically correct. The best kind of correct.
Oh I see your point. Yeah, I think they meant that. And yes, there was a time you’d have to do trickery in C to force the use of SSE or whatever extensions you wanted to use.
There’s absolutely nothing you can do in C that you can’t also do in assembly. Because assembly is just the bunch of bits that the compiler generates.
That said, you’d have to be insane to write a game featuring SIMD instructions these days in assembly.
See, now that’s a valid reason!
Imagine not trying to fight network effects because it’s “kinda cringe”. Of all the reasons not to do it, this screams “I’m insecure” the loudest.
I loved Swift key until Microsoft screwed the pooch.
I think it was just my instance taking longer to update or something. It’s there now.
Edit: typos. Can anyone recommend me a decent iOS keyboard that isn’t trying to steal all my data?
