Is there some beef between you?
Is there some beef between you?
It’s a UNIX-like system. It’s not close enough to be linux imo
And what does the Mac UI not allow you to do? There are so many features that still aren’t implemented on Windows or Linux. Things that should work but are just a little off
Look, I’m probably the exception here, but someone I know works at a company as a manager. He is more than willing to work with the union guys there with anything, but the real problem is that a lot of them get very lazy. Like, not doing their job lazy. And it’s near impossible to get rid of them because the union will spin it some other way. That’s the one real negative to unions, but they’re not the silver bullet to every industry
While it won’t make sense for every datacenter, it would be so amazing to walk into one and see something hyper futuristic placed on walls
Fair enough, the iPhones are ridiculous, but I was mostly thinking of macs, that’s on me
I got my first mac 7 years ago, the 2017 macbook air. I put that lovely machine through its paces, even got it to run Destiny 2 and gta 5 at one point. Until last year I was issued a work laptop and it’s windows. I have a windows desktop at home, but Mac just works with my slightly chaotic flow better.
Thanks. Their repair pricing is obnoxious, I’ll give you that, but their pricing model really isn’t ridiculous otherwise. For the performance you get it’s great. I’m willing to bet most companies source their alumni from the same place, but my only genuine issue is that MacOS is a great piece of software. I still like Catalina/Mojave myself, but the newer variations are still good. Do you have specific gripes with the OS?
Genuine question, why be avid anti-apple? I’m a mac fan, but I still use Linux and windows in my daily life. I’be never understood the anti-mac hate
Not invalidating your experience, but my t7 ran windows for me and it’s done well
I use arc on my mac and it’s nowhere near as nice as that, but I like the side tabs, the way it gets out of the way when I’m searching, and bing isn’t too bad; I’ve actually used it a few times. Once I found a customizable start page I haven’t looked back. Again, for work
Definitely missed it. It doesn’t grab everything without permission, but probably wants to stay out of the way so you do pull it all in
That duckduckgo default is the thing that aggravates me the most. Sometimes those results just don’t cut it but I don’t even have the option to chance my default browser. I had to bookmark google
I use edge for work every day, what popups?
As a mac-first guy I wasn’t aware of mimicked (really bothers me this word is spelled with a ‘k’) functionality on windows. I simply mean that by adding a kext you are, by design, changing the code of the kernel. More of a particulars in speech thing.
This happens on Mac as well btw. kexts are kernel extensions
You don’t. I did a project involving Mycroft and, while functional, it was awful. Not worth any of the hassle.
Oh that looks awful. Maybe it’s just because I don’t know how to read it, but the fact that it is similar to SQL (definitely pronounced sequel at this time) messed with my head
You’re diverting the argument. A power window can not be more environmentally friendly in any meaningful way
Still on Disco Elysium. It’s good, thus far, but some of the controls bug me. The game has made me laugh multiple times though, it’s a real “dramadey” of video games. Although I had a nice evening the other day playing the Jackbox Party Pack.
