So is everybody just snapping at each other more? Like is the friend group more angry? I’m kind of confused at the nature of the toxicity. But it does feel like the pressure of society making people a lot more tired and stressed, quick to snap. I’ve notice the same thing with some of friends of mine, and it’s unfortunate =(

How long has Gamurs owned The Escapists? I thought it was getting suspicious lately how many different things they were trying to get money so quickly.
They were putting more sponsor segments in ZP videos at different points and Nick would respond in the comments when people complained, trying to find a good place to put them. Then they started letting Yahtzee curse more and offering the uncensored version on their subscription service. And these changes were quickly one right after the other. I should’ve known something like this was coming, but I’m still sad about it. I hate capitalism so much. Why does these corporations have to ruin all my favorite things?
Like others I mostly miss the discussions in my old niche hobby subs. Luckily a lot seem to have communities here, they just need more participation.

Great idea! Lemmy needs more content. You’re doing God’s work. I recommend you don’t dump it all at once because it looks like spam. That’s why people don’t like the Reddit posting bots like lemmit. Maybe once a day or twice a day, extend it out a while and gives time for people to comment on them.

People have been smoking Marijuana since the 60’s and it’s still a federally illegal drug at the level of heroine. Laws don’t change quickly in the US at all.

The front page of reddit is so bad now. It’s like 1/4 feel good memes, 1/4 variations of rate my pic subs, 1/4 ask reddit questions with the same answers I’ve seen a ton of times before, and 1/4 news and reviews. It’s somehow bland pop culture nonsense mixed with whining and anger.
I can get the first and last 1/4 from Lemmy now and the other stuff I don’t care about, so I get through the Reddit first few pages way faster than I used to now (when I’m browsing bored at work).
50% of people keep voting for it, so some people must love it.
