It’s a joke about writing slurs and censoring them with an asterisk, implying Gamer is a slur

Obviously Sony is unhappy with the performance of the PS5 considering how much they’ve been trying to push PC ports lately. Not to mention Square Enix citing disappointing sales for their last couple of critically acclaimed Final Fantasy games as the reason they’re going to focus on multi-platform support going forward.
They have some new IPs but they’re purely game publishers nowadays, primarily more indie and AA titles afaik Edit: write this without looking, looks like they do also sell old consoles and some controllers and such as well.
A lot of games were significantly more expensive bc back then too
Titled Cat Game
Well the new Tekken games launch with more and more characters, besides 7 which did launch with less than 6, and if you consider that the price of games has gotten cheaper due to inflation since the first Tekken it starts to make sense that they’re trying to make more money off them. Games have been costing more to make while costing less to buy for decades now and the industry is reaching a point where that’s become unsustainable but people just won’t accept a larger sticker price and longer development cycles so studios are finding new ways to make money. Personally I think selling characters as they come out for a few bucks is actually not a bad thing in fighting games, it keeps the games alive and interesting for much longer so long as it’s done well.
There was plenty of terrible, buggy games you just didn’t see because stores would drop them. PC had it far worse than console did back in the day. I think it’s also that games are just way fucking cheaper now, adjusted for inflation a SNES game was around 120 bucks and a PS2 game was around 75 bucks.
But it did mean they would ship them broken with no chance of fixing them, tbf.
Nah it’s everywhere, Lemmy is not special in that regard. Gaming culture in general has a large amount of people who just hate shit, regardless of whether it deserves it or not. Just ask anyone who plays an MMORPG
They did tho? Not being able to make a new save was one of those issues
I want this but the audiobook equivalent. Ive had such bad luck getting them.
Oh, seems so. I always thought they just had the same art style through a coincidence or something. IDK where I got that
Idk I think the new art style is good. They probably didn’t want it looking like Rimworld anymore and wanted to have 3D for the verticality that was lacking in the original.
Investing into your reputation should be a business decision tbh. More companies should pay attention to what people actually think of their practices.
Oh, absolutely, it’s a completely different experience now than on launch. It’s a properly good RPG nowadays, although your choices don’t matter much in the storyline.
Honestly they’ve already reclaimed a lot of rep fixing cyberpunk, especially after the 2.0 update.
The new games I honestly think improve the originals. It makes it far more interesting than just the revenge story it was before
Ah, that’s fair. Emulation it is.
Honestly it’s wild it didn’t happen sooner. Here’s hoping it comes to PC eventually, but until then we have emulators.
Tbf when it comes to actually developing games they’re good at what they do
