Happy to have you in Mac land. For me:

• VLC video player is a must. Free, open source, and just an absolute powerhouse of an app.
• Parsec is another I generally install right off the bat. Lets you connect to a windows computer (or other host OS) over the network. Like a low latency Remote Desktop, but for gaming (so it’s faster)
• Visual studio code is also a first install kinda app. If you do any coding, it’s pretty capable and I like it. Personal taste factors in for sure though.
• Orion is my preferred browser, primarily for its iOS app that allows you to ad block on mobile. I use it on desktop too so I can share tabs across all my devices.

If you tell me what other things you intend to do with it, I have more suggestions. Don’t wanna go to deep into development type apps unless you care.

I kind of wonder if this is Automator recording. I just tried recording a new workflow with Automator and it didn’t look quite like that though. I’m on 14.6, so that might also be why.

For me, I can talk to literally everyone I want to via the stock messaging app (iMessage in this case). I get no value from installing a second messaging app for a specific human or two.

Almost certainly. The facial ID is good enough that US customs didn’t even want to see my passport. Just a photo was enough to let me back in the country. I even significantly changed my hair between departure and arrival. Shit is scary.

Im using the latest release of RyuJinx and it plays most games really well.

Big fan of this solution. Switch emulation is also pretty great on the steam deck and gets rid of most of the modern grossness (always on, obtrusive DRM, etc) that comes with playing on they physical device.

I own three switches for what it’s worth. I’ve purchased them legally and I purchased the games legally as well. I’m not a lawyer, but I feel like I’m operating within the law here.

Very much a thing within the reach of the average consumer with something like the MigSwitch Dumper. You get the game you paid for and none of the nasty bits (other than some emulation pain here and there).
