I don’t find it surprising given that the vast majority of people don’t research the claims that other people make. For example, during the GameStop short squeeze, people came to the conclusion that corruption or collusion was at play, when in reality it wasn’t for the most part.
People would rather listen to a guy who says something confidently than a guy who says “I don’t know.” The former gets to spread their word, and the latter gets ignored.
Why not make a better UI after ironing out the bugs?
Eh, that would disincentivize long-term updates.
Instead, 5 or 10 years of inactivity should be more than enough leeway.
Disagree in some cases. A good chunk of YouTubers make good use of their “no new effort” earnings by reinvesting it into their channel. The end result is either better content or more of it
If you read any of his memoirs or interviews, you’d know that his intended destination was Ecuador, and he couldn’t fly out of Russia due to his passport being revoked. He lived in the Russian airport until he was granted asylum, so it’s not like he had much choice.
I didn’t see any sources that went against those claims except from WikiLeaks, so I don’t see much of a reason to discredit them.

And you want to start with Valve, which is one of the smaller game companies and is one of the few players not guilty of buying up their competition, instead of Sony, Microsoft, other Big Tech players, media conglomerates like Disney, ISPs like Comcast or AT&T, or meat distributors who are price fixing algorithmicly?
Surprised how nobody mentioned “Everytime We Touch” by Cascada
Not OP, but the tools provided by my OEM of choice are already really good, so it’s something I’m glad exists but isn’t useful to me.
I don’t know; AFAIK, Reddit successfully argued that they own Wallstreetbets’ trademarks in court. That might void all of these licenses depending on the ToS of the instance being used.
Reminds me of Rensenware.
It very much is still a problem. It’s unrealistic to expect the majority of YT users to use a tool like SponsorBlock.
The problem is that people in this thread are in the mindset that tipping encourages lower wages, when in reality, low wages encourage tipping. The US has an absurdly low minimum wage relative to the cost of living, and that minimum wage of $7.25 has an exemption for tipped employees who can earn as little as $2.33 an hour. While it’s true that many states have higher minimum wages than the federal wage, there are several that are the same as federal.
The problem with marketing is that conservatives will make a huge deal about it. It’s better to keep things lesser known so that they actually happen.
The difference between pirates and drug dealers is that the former tends to need some level of tech literacy.
If you want to buy teams, then I imagine that you do need to acquire the company.
They’re probably just a kid who can’t easily afford games.
They convinced GitHub to send takedown notices, which can be appealed. They’re legally required to do this under the DMCA.
I’m genuinely glad we live in a country that recognizes the horrors of its past. Even with all of the “whitewashing” that occurs in textbooks in parts of the country, like “states’ rights” in the Civil War and praising Columbus, there’s still an overwhelming consensus that minorities were wronged for our entire history.
