Probably Akira Toriyama’s art style. RIP, you fucking legend
Probably Akira Toriyama’s art style. RIP, you fucking legend
After googling and reading some articles, that doesn’t seem to be true. According to Webtoon, they make contracts with creators, which seems to be between 48.000 and 50.000 dollars a year on average. For example, the contract would state that the creator is to deliver 50 episodes per year, with a 1000 bucks per episode. If the series incurs any losses and makes, for example, only 45.000 in revenue, then the creator still gets paid the full 50.000. That’s including fast pass. So, in this example, Webtoon would make no money on the series in that year.
Again, 50k is only an example, it depends on the contract. The numbers in other articles are all over the place, I’ve seen reports of as low as 38k.
This doesn’t include “international (non-local) paid content revenue, advertising revenue, or merchandising revenue.” Which means that creators can make more than their contract states, even if the episodes themselves don’t meet the contractual revenue.
Webtoon also has an ad revenue sharing program for creators that hit a view minimum requirements. Through this program, creators get 50% of all ads displayed on their series.
Please keep in mind that this information may not be 100% accurate, but it is the most reliable info I could find in a few minutes, since it’s mostly from Webtoon’s own homepage and a few third party sites.
In any way, it’s better than not getting paid for your work at all.
On the other hand, there’s a lot of people who need to be handheld through the experience. Maybe this is even their first ever video game.
Ideally, it would be an optional thing, but oh well.
It was probably cheaper for them to just refund you instead of processing a broken item and disposing of it themselves.
Does Fortnite count? Playing against cracked out 10 year olds, who build a fortification faster than you can say “fortification” is stressful as fuck
Isn’t that stuff usually a creative decision by the voice director?
Blizzard is already pretty infamous for adapting their games for the Chinese market, by removing or replacing certain numbers/symbolism or objects like skulls. So, it’s already been happening for a long time.
The gameplay does looks pretty good. Too bad it’ll be ruined by a shitty publisher.
It’s alright, but I couldn’t get through it. It just was #notmyAC lol. Travel between quests took too long and the desert is not that interesting to me personally. Parcour was shallow and I hated the combat and progression systems.
I loved almost all of the old school style AC games, but they started to drop off after the Ezio trilogy. 3, Black Flag, Unity and Syndicate were fine, but they just didn’t quite have the same charm or were lacking in other areas. Still had a fun time with Black Flag and Syndicate.
I agree. Someone said some time ago that players should be able to recognize characters by their silhouette alone. That’s definitely not the case here.
Car battery inside the wall :P
Honestly, Skyrim. With so many great mods available these days, you can literally turn it into a whole different game. And with modpacks on Nexus, Wabbajack or similar sites, it’s easier than ever. I’m just getting back into it myself after 3 years, but I’m still a big fan of getting into the nitty gritty of it and configuring everything myself.
The prequel had mostly orks in the beginning, but they sprinkled in some other enemies later on. So I assume they’ll do something similar here.
Eric? Isn’t his first name Guy?
Well, there aren’t. If people sign a contract and aren’t aware of what it says, that’s their own problem. And gaming is a commodity, so it’s not like you HAVE to sign that contract if you disagree with it. Just don’t play the game then.
It doesn’t bring up any issues to record people for moderation purposes, if it’s in the Terms of Service of whatever service/game you’re using. Agreeing to the ToS is a form of contract. CoD’s voice chat, for example, is already monitored and recorded.
Also, as voice recognition with AI is getting better, so will the effectiveness of those moderation tools. Not just in terms of speed but also in terms of cost.
Isn’t that more of a problem with game design in general though? I’d argue if you’re going with just that example then Rage 2 is the same as most MMOs. Go here, kill things, go back and deliver items, etc. Also, how are those two games similar to Just Cause or Mad Max?
Okay, I’ll bite. How are all of those the same?
That, and probably a lot of untreated and undiagnosed mental health issues. Honestly, I think guns are pretty cool (from a mechanical standpoint) but I would never even want to own one irl or kill anything with one. 'Cause, you know, I’m somewhat sane.
There’s a few, very vocal idiots every now and then who believe that every group/minority should be represented in every piece of media. A lot of the time they don’t even belong to any of those minorities. And then there’s the people who comply to cater to that audience, because they appear bigger in numbers than they are.
Don’t wanna get “canceled” on Xitter, you know? /s
Anyway, I don’t care personally. I haven’t really seen a lot of examples in media where the creators made characters part of a minority, maybe even retroactively, just to please a certain demographic. The closest I can think of is J.K. Rowling’s Xitter account. That was interesting to watch, to say the least lol
