Final Fantasy I-VI bundle
Not mine, but my dad’s that I was there to witness.
It was summer (90s) and we were all camping at a lake. My sister and I were playing with some kids while my dad was chatting up the other kids’ dad. Just as I was getting out of the water I hear the other dad exclaim “you remind me of a guy I used to know called [name]!” My dad laughs and says “I am [name].” Turns out they used to go to school together decades before.
It’s stuck with me all these years, and has somewhat been turned into an inside joke within our family.
Thank you for sharing this! I haven’t booted up my PS5 in months… Can this be used without their monthly subscription thing? I didn’t see that mentioned on the remote play website, so I figured I’d ask the stupid question.
Cult of the Lamb
Bought it right at the end of the summer sale. Been having a blast.
I feel called out 😅
I have had whatever number of tabs open on Firefox mobile where it stops giving you a number and you get the ∞ symbol…
I second 8bitdo. I have the ultimate bluetooth model and I love it. That one can switch between bluetooth and 2.4ghz. Unsure how multiple controllers using the dongles would work though.
Bought several to share through Family Beta, but the two for me were Bravely Default II and Catlateral Damage. Played the first two Bravely games on the DS, and the other game I got just looks like fun.
As for what I’m playing? Backlog 😅 When I’m in the mood for story rich I’m playing Death Stranding. When I’m in the mood for just something fun I’m playing Peglin.
I’m using a pair of Corsair HS55 via Bluetooth without any issues. Got them on sale cheap-ish and I’m happy. Only used the mic when I’ve had it connected to my phone and been told there’s no noticable difference between the headset mic and the phone mic.
Forza Horizon 4 - I had to search to the acronym
Memphis design for the colors and patterns, Y2K for the colorful translucent electronics, and Frutiger Aero for the GUIs.
I just bought myself a pair of parachute pants! They’re not nearly as loud as the wind breaker suits of the 90s and early 00s, but I love them.
Almost daily. I have treatment resistant radial styloid tenosynovitis so when that flares up nothing is easy to play.
Initially the games were those on the lighter side, but now I’ve moved on to more graphically intensive games (sometimes having to tweak settings, sometimes not).
When I want a bigger screen I bust out the dock and set up the portable monitor I bought for it - and, depending on what I’m playing I’ll either get out the mouse and keyboard or the controller.
I don’t have a set space for my setup so having the ability to pack up everything is a huge plus.
I have the 512GB LCD model and recently put in a 1.5TB SD card and am loving being able to install bigger games. So far I haven’t noticed any real lag vs it being installed on the internal SSD. That may be an option for you.
When funds allow I will be upgrading my internal SSD to a 2TB, but, for now, the SD card works fine
The demo was fun. Apparently I’m a mediocre heartless monster.
I remember us having an Atari computer along with some Compac computer running DOS in the late 80s. The computers I grew up with were models that we got for free from my dad’s workplace whenever they upgraded. We ran Win 3.1 until about '98. Win 95 was prevalent in the house until the mid '00s. Due to my dad’s job, we always had a computer of some sort in the house.
The computers in my elementary school’s computer lab were Apple 2es - in the 90s.
I didn’t get a cellphone until around 2004/2005, and then it was a hand-me-down from my older sister. The Nokia 5110 - the brick, complete with extendable antenna.
I appreciate this, and now I’m just waiting for it to show me family library games when browsing the store. I have games on my wishlist that another family member owns. A flag that says “family library” would be appreciated - similar to “in library” and “on wishlist.”
Blinkies - those small gifs that blinked to give the impression of glitter.
iframes - precursor to divs, but definitely added that “only works in IE” feel.
More contrast between font color and background image - it’s too easy to read.
12pt Times New Roman font - gotta squint to read and default font for everything
Flashy gif banner at your header and footer - bonus points if they’re the same image
All urls default to underlined blue and purple.
Mouse cursor with trails. The more sparkles, the better.
Clip art. Clip art everywhere.
Not sure if this would count, but here it is:
Boil water amount on the box in the electric kettle. Drain canned chicken. (Some brands need to be rinsed because of the amount of salt in the broth they’re canned in.) Add stuffing, butter (amount according to the box) and chicken into a bowl. Stir to incorporate. Add boiling water, stir again, and cover for 5 minutes. Fluff and serve.
I suggest using the low sodium version as there will be a lot of salt between the box of stuffing and canned chicken. Can also use leftover cooked chicken.
Brand new to Wave 3 and loving it so far. Still learning as I go, but gamifying walking is helping.
