It’s great software. I’ll have to try editing the permissions because on Tumbleweed it only works when run as root. It complains that the service isn’t running as a user.
Also, I noticed that series 7000 gpus have serious problems under the most recent stable kerne when using an egpu setup. LACT shows that they cannot draw enough wattage, so they never get up to speed. Older gpus work fine.
It still does what it did when I started using it. What’s the problem?
And? As long as I can watch my content, why should I care? It’s a business with employees and they need to make money somehow.
So I read it and I still don’t see the outrage.
Yes.
Yes.
Edit: How pathetic. It’s software. Keep trying to convince him to buy new hardware when he doesn’t need it.
I would try pfsense. Definitely no need for new hardware.
Sigh… Just stop.
You should have said that from the start. CUDA doesn’t work properly on MicroOS because it can’t be fully installed, at least in my attempts.
And I have no idea why you think it’s my OS. Next time provide detailed information. I wouldn’t have responded otherwise.
And your Nvidia card supports G06. Do some basic research.
Optimus is such a pain. Definitely not a good start for a linux laptop. Maybe you can turn it off in the bios or set the primary GPU to prefer the integrated. Or maybe boot with nomodeset in the kernel options and install the Nvidia drivers. And I don’t know if you have a G05 or better Nvidia card, but if you do it should work with Wayland. Who knows, though! Personally, I would sooner sell the laptop and get one that is compatible without all the hackery.
It’s just easy mode for keeping your computer up to date without having to do anything beyond the initial setup. You can read about it here.
Pathetic humans trying to keep their religious, political, etc ideals at the top. There isn’t enough content or comments in Lemmy for it to matter.
Because they were smart.

Arch Linux is great for people that want to do nothing but Arch Linux.
