Oh sure. Not all of them, certainly, but a good number of friends and I will hug to say hello/goodbye. Some of those guys prefer the handshake-bro-hug variety, others go in for the full bear hug. A handful of them, my oldest friends, are comfortable with cuddling, snuggling, or other non-hug physical contact so that’ll happen on the occasions we get to see each other.

I recently played through Miles Morales twice and decided to play the previous Spiderman game. Still having fun, but I’m trying to get to the sections with Miles (he’s my personal favorite). It’s interesting to see the kinds of side quests and mini games they chose to keep in retrospect.

My nephew absolutely loves Kirby anything. We played some of the games together on an emulator during his visit last year, but it’s a few more years before I’ll introduce him to Dream Course. The 2d platformers are more his speed currently. And by that I mean “as long as he crossed the finish line he beat the level” even if I helped. It’s been fun playing through them to practice for the cool points

I picked up King of Seas on sale just to have something silly to play. It’s a fun little thing, getting to roam around as a pirate and dodging the navy and main quest alike in pursuit of a fancier ship

Hmmm… When I finished the four levels in Terra Nil it unlocked four more scenarios with different maps to play. You’re right though, more would have been fun to have.

Currently I have two of the boards on the folding sawhorses and three more on a folding table, but I hear you and appreciate the suggestion. The IR lamp suggestion is clutch as well, I think I have several in the rabbitry for the buns’ overwinter comfort but didn’t think to use those for this. Now I’m wondering if I have spare chain lying around to make an adjustable fixture height apparatus. Good looks, thank you!

I still occasionally fire up Lego City Undercover for the fun of it. I find the mechanic of being able to switch between all the roles a little bit more enjoyable than only having access to one or two sets of skills, but it’s a minor quibble when all of the games are so much fun.

Gonna have to get We Love Katamari as well…

Growing up had a lot of careful navigation between “what are you smiling about” and “I’ll give you something to cry about” and a ton of unhealthy emotional suppression to boot. It takes so much effort to escape those trajectories.

Write or type a letter to your neighbor explaining that you’d like to help them make their fence safer, then leave it for them if they’re not home when you go to drop it off. Provide your name, a way to contact you, and be polite. Don’t make moves to alter their fence without them; changing your neighbors is expensive and good will is priceless.

If it’s a chain link style fence, with the exposed ends twisted together and jaggedly facing up, a top rail with fasteners is likely to be the easiest to set up. If there’s a fencing installer locally, try calling them up and telling them about it, then ask if they have the means to fabricate or modify a top rail to work for what’s going on. If you have the means to make a jig for an angle grinder you may be able to cut appropriate openings in the top rail yourself and secure them with ring clamps or appropriate hardware for connecting them to the upright posts. Wooden toppers might be less expensive to purchase or fabricate but will have their own upkeep needs - a router with a channel bit or a table saw with a dado blade could make short work of the recess needed to cover the sharp parts of the fence, and conduit clamps could be used to secure it in place.
