If they tied a bookwyrm comments section to an ISBN number for example then anybody/site could easily have it embedded to make it a universal tool rather than specifically connected to a piracy site.

Yeah, it’s silly and odd and likely done to push customers towards formats that they have greater control over.

Those epubs that aren’t really epubs, randomly disallowing azw3 files (that they support officially!!!) from being downloaded directly from the kindle’s built in browser and other restrictive behaviour are part of this. That’s why I’m eventually looking to enable epubs on kindle once the people at mobileread find a way to do it. Apparently calibre can be set up to send files too via email so that’s another option.

They’re not though. They only do over the cloud conversions from epub to an amazon proprietary format, that can make the covers or formatting go awry.

I’m envisioning Bookwyrm behaving as a comments section for anna’s archive (possibly all/any decentralised book repositary), but they’d be reviews instead. I’m reminded of discus or facebook that you often get embedded on certain sites.

YouTube does change how videos are accessed so the apps need to update every time that happens.

Imagine somebody gamified it like people gamify seeding lol.

It’s a basic site but well stocked. Not comparable to the big torrent sites, but it is great.

Sigil and Calibre have tools that allow you to view metadata and edit html, toc etc. But I doubt there’d be tracking on a travel book tbh despite the comments below - (I’m happy to be corrected). It’s often visible on journal articles and others have stated technical books too.

The process with the original pencil drawing is pretty interesting - the lady’s pose on the right was more plausible, but got changed to a more dynamic and exciting pose.

If the process gif is interesting, and you want to view them all at once, a good media player might be able to pause them, but ezgif.com is able to split them into images and even combine them into a sprite sheet with customisable columns/rows.

I hope the artist uses Glaze if they upload on Artstation (just saw it’s an old peice, likely already scraped).

I disabled and uninstalled using adb and it’s fine for me. I use the native gallery which I like.

I’ve been using it for years and not been banned.
