  • I would say depending on the purpose, you can get some cheaper stuff. Like I’m not gonna expect people at a college party to make rum and cokes with the nice stuff. And they’re just shooting back tequila for fun.

But I also still wouldn’t get bottom shelf. Its still worth avoiding that. I worked at an Albertsons liquor store back in about 2010. You could get a handle of Albertsons brand liquor for $10. Was always tempted to get some just to see how bad it is, but could never force myself to do it.

  • I recently wanted an audiobook and found out it’s only available on Audible(because of course), so I resubscribed from when I had it about 5-6 years ago. Plan was to get the book and cancel again. They have also removed audiobooks from my account. Granted, they’re still available on audible. They weren’t taken off the service. I can buy them again. But it just shows they aren’t mine anymore.

From now on, I will pirate something before I subscribe again.

  • Feeling like a consumer is a great way to put it. It especially feels more and more like it when trying to do even the most mundane tasks. Like if you own a product but need to ask a question on Google about it, first you have to scroll past the links to pages trying to sell you the product you typed in, then you might get some reddit links, 2-3 from a smaller forum, and then more links trying to sell you the product. It will say there’s thousands of results, but it’s just the same 6 links to purchase the product over and over again. So now even basic web searches are mainly for buying stuff.

  • I also jump around with this. Like I would definitely read more. But there’s a part of me that would love to write books. But also male music. But also paint. Basically I would do something in the realm of art.

I wouldn’t mind having a part time job doing something physical. Like I used to work at a warehouse for a medical supplies company. It was probably one of my favorite jobs. I could see myself doing that again. Gives me a reason to get out of the house, be active, and people will always need the supplies. Ironically I lost the job because we got bought out by one of the world’s largest corporations so they could make even more money, and they closed us down. So I lost that job because of capitalism.

  • One of my old roommates did it. I work in patient transportation at the hospital, and two of my coworkers did it. All of them have talked about terrible the job was. And not even because of the things people think would be terrible. Like bed pans aren’t fun. But its part of the job.

But they’re understaffed, the managers suck because they’re all only interested in money, so they get mentally abused by the higher ups, they have to work over time to get things done so people don’t die but then get yelled at for working over time, etc. And all you said, it’s for shit pay. I don’t blame anyone for leaving those jobs. And it’s sad, because ultimately it’s the elderly who suffer from all of this.

  • I haven’t had a chance to play it yet. Moving and still have to get through BG3. But I’m actually excited for it. Like I see posts over and over and over and over and over and over about the the fact that it’s not NMS. Sure, kind of disappointing. And I will agree that if you keep running into the same exact structures over and over, maybe they could have done something different. Have some sort of procedurally generated structures.

But that seems to mostly be it. Every review I’ve watched talks pretty positively about the other aspects. It’s got some bugs, which is to he expected, and apperantly the melee combat isn’t clunky and awkward. But those seem to be the biggest complaints outside of not being able to land.

So I’m gonna do what I’ve seen a lot of people said to do. I’m gonna go into the Bethesda game and play it largely like it’s a Bethesda game. Gonna go through the main story, the different factions, do some side quests, etc.

It’s not No Man’s Sky. Cool. Call of Duty isn’t Escape From Tarkov. I have played both of those and loved them both for completely different reasons, and I don’t expect them both to be the same. If anything I got bored of No Man’s Sky after a bit. Partially because I’m just not into the base building, and itnfelt like that was the main thing to do outside of explore. Little to no stories. Last I heard we still don’t have the faction system they talked about when the game was first launching. Starfield has things going for it over NMS.

  • That was one direction I considered going. On one hand, i have pretty much pretty much everything up to the PS2 and GameCube that can run on my phone, but it would be awesome to have the option for some PS3 games. However, it is a bit of a mixed bag. Some games it can handle perfectly fine. Some of them I would absolutely love to have mobile. But there’s also a few others that it’s not quite there for. I want to say someone tried on the ROG Ally, and it did test a little bit better, so that would be an option as well.

But I also just don’t know how often I would use it. Like I got a Switch when it came out, and I feel like I mostly use it docked at home. It’s big, it’s awkward trying to get it out of its case and get comfortable while on the bus. On the other hand it’s a lot easier to just have a smaller controller I can slap on my phone.

But I haven’t written it off yet. Because like I said, some games would be awesome to have. And a lot of the ports I would like to take with my that they put on the Switch tend to be downgraded visually, so it would look better on a portable PC instead.

  • That was probably a good idea. I made it about 30 minutes in. The movie kept moving further and further away from the books. And it was in the weirdest ways. I’m not sure what all it showed in the first 5 minutes, but Randal suddenly has a group of people to help him, and they’re using sifi technology with computers to open portals instead of the doors. I get things will always change from book to movie. I go in expecting it. And usually it’s not a huge deal. But I just don’t get the decisions they decided to make.

  • A mini pc for emulation. I’ve been following the emulation scene for years, particularly for Android over the last 5-6 years. I ride the bus to and from work, so it’s always been nice to have them. For home, I have a Rasobery Pi 3B. It’s nice. But it is a little outdated, and would like a boost in power. Thought about getting the RP5 if it ever comes out.

However, some companies are now starting to really go all in on mini PCs. For more modern PC gaming, it’s not gonna get you the greatest experience. And I have a gaming PC right now. But I find that I prefer to run my emulators sitting on the couch. And now a lot of these minis are able to emulate up to PS3 and 360. Or at least as well as the emulators can work. However, for a model running the specs I want, I’m currently looking at anywhere from $700-900. So it might be a bit longer till I can afford one. Maybe with tax money if nothing else comes up.
