Oh, that sounds cool! What is it you tune? I imagine some coil whine from heating elements maybe?

I honestly feel silly for not having looked up a solution like it earlier.
I got a couple of apps I’d recommend in a heartbeat.
Spectdroid is a spectrogram app. Its unreasonable how often I’m using this app. I got some mild tinnitus that comes and goes and this app allows me to find out if I got some actual weird buzzing I’m the house or if it’s just in my head.
And LocalSend is an amazing app for sending files between various devices and OSes over a local network. I no longer need to set up file shares, plug in my phone to a computer, or use cloud storage just to transfer over some files.
Do I understand it right that it’s a free replacement of the still copyrighted game assists such as textures and models, and not the code itself? I’m curios if the level design wouldn’t also fall into this.
Oh you’re right! That’s an embarrassing mistake to make. I never got the stealth suit from Old World Blues.
If I recall it’s from the “China invades Alska simulator” one. Can’t remember the name if it. Probably a good sign I need to go replay new Vegas!
I’ve gone with PopOs. Ubuntu based so well supported. They’ve been around for a while now so they won’t disappear over night. Gaming just works.
I was on Nobara for a while and really liked it. but while glorious eggroll is the goat, I don’t want to put my DE in the hands of a single person.
Since swapping the I’ve experienced one game crashing freeze (which I hope was a one off), and when screen sharing BG3 over discord it slows the game down to a crawl. But I blame discord for this one, as its fine when streaming from OBS.
Huh. I did as well. Like /use/bin was for user installed applications and such. You learn something everyday.
Yeah the issue is I wouldn’t want to compromise quality too much. But I might just start saving up now for whatever valve is cooking up next :) Another issue with using a quest is that you have to run the occulus app (when wired), eating up some of that sweet precious VRAM.
I got a Quest 3 that I use with a USB-c cable. Price is great but having to fiddle around with video compression settings on top of all other VR settings has proven to be a bit tedious. I’m still trying to figure out what pcvr headset to go for that won’t complete drain my bank account (there’s probably tons of used ones out there).
Glad to hear VR is possible and getting better on Linux though!
Oh what’s your Linux setup for VR? I thought it was very janky still? Once I get my storage server set up I was planing on moving fully to windows except for a small drive for VR titlea.
There’s a bit of choice paralasys when joining Lemmy. Even if you know how the fediverse works you won’t have knowledge of the culture and relationships of different instances.
I joined Lemmy.world because it advertises itself as the vanilla flavour of the fediverse, so it makes it an easy pick for someone like me who didn’t quite understand how it all hangs together.
But I do agree with you, and I’m looking to migrate after some concerning things have come up about the lemmy.world owner.
Edit: confused the owner of lemmy.world and lemmy.ml.
It’s currently sitting with a 3600X with 32GB of corsair vengence ram, and trying to scrounge around for any hardrives I can find for storage :P
But it’s working really well for hosting jellyfin and some game servers on it.
That’s one cute pup!
I’ll give it a go, didn’t see the previous give always. The Invincible would be sweet to play in full. I tried the demo and the story had me intrigued and the art style is really cool. Similar in vibe to Red Matter and other “everyone’s vanished” mysteries. I’m dumb and can’t read. Out of the options there I’d love to relieve some old Tomb Raider nostalgia!
On another note, I recently cleaned up a pretty gnarly PC case. When my friend was in need to a PC I threw together some old parts for him. The last couple of years got pretty dark for him, and his flat was turned into more or less a drug den. But he’s recently kicked everyone out and reclaimed it. I was in need of a case to build a server in and he asked if I wanted the old one back as he was able to buy a new computer for himself.
All in all it took a bit over 1 litre of isopropyl alcohol, some elbow grease, and a water hose :P

Didn’t know there was a ps3 remake of the game. I’ve been dragging along an old iso of the game for my replays. I might check that out for my next replay :)
Who are these “they” that has admitted it’s a bad law?
It’s one of the best recent pieces of privacy legeslation. It’s not the EU’s fault that websites are scumbags insisting on making life difficult for people.
I’ve only used DaVinci for small projects, so I don’t know their eco system too well, but what made you buy a product when you were having problems getting it to work? :O Does the studio version offer better hardware acceleration or something like that?
What? Surely seeing something popping up on steam and buying it happens far more than someone spontaneously buying a game in a store when walking around town/ a mall.
Maybe I’m a recluse, but I can’t remember last time I went into a store that stocks a meaningful amount of games other than second hand shops. Are physical games really that large of a margin anymore?
