I’m a Loot Goblin that spacebars through the story too, but Borderlands hasn’t been able to scratch that itch in a long time.
The last one I played was Tina’s Wonderland and everything about it was a slog. I didn’t care about any of the loot or any of the fights and I definitely didn’t care about the story.
Right? I didn’t realize how disinterested I was in Borderlands until I read that.

The hell are you doing that shreds your fingers
This has been me playing Avowed this week.
I got twelve hours in before I decided to cut my losses and realize that it likely wouldn’t get better.
It had alright reviews so at each step I kept going “oh it’s probably just me… I’m sure after this chapter the next one is where things get interesting.”
You guys don’t understand how hard it is to be a pm.
Jira changed “issues” to “work items” and to recover from that trauma I took another two weeks off.
Was gonna say I don’t think I’ve ever made one. I generally just get that “oh god I’m old” dread then be fine the next day.
Can’t wait for the 255 username posting to 255 community @ 255 (253?) instance
It’s wild how Linus hasn’t pivoted into acknowledging his videos are like junk food. They’re fun but you shouldn’t take them too seriously.
Instead he’s doubling down in all the worst ways while continuing to come off as another whiny tech ceo
Don’t forget all the ads to buy their ink every month and other bullshit
I sincerely hope that OSRS players don’t rollover on this one but I’m not holding my breath.
Reading the CEO comments the other day really highlighted how tired I am of corporate speak and just how patronizing it is.
I’ll try to name some unusual ones I enjoy
Pokerogue - a Pokémon one that’s surprisingly well made but grindy
Rogue tower - tower defense
Peglin - pachinko roguelite
Backpack battles - a weird inventory game where you auto battle other peoples builds but it’s not really pvp so don’t worry if you’re not into that
MeinKraft
The strength of pc gaming imo comes in the form of modding.
So
Probably forgetting a lot
I mean I don’t think anyone should feel all grown up.
I think we all had a similar moment where we’re like “oh shit, I’m legally an adult now and also all the other “adults” were faking it. They’ve got no clue what they’re doing either!”
It’s like the time you figure out that your parents are fallible humans too
No? I’m in my 40s and I’m never sure what people mean by inner child.
Like I try to do all the things I want to do but age does help you figure out what piper is worth paying.
Like I can eat like shit and play games for 12 hours but experience tells me that the next day I’ll feel like shit. Sometimes I’m happy to pay that price
I played a few hours of 3 and tiny Tina’s and both just felt really meh. Like the villains were annoying , the characters were annoying, and the weapons felt same old. Maybe I’ve changed and they’re not meant for me anymore but it’s a shame.
I’m hoping the next game makes the weapons feel exciting again. I don’t want to see or hear claptrap anymore
Anyone into restoring cars probably has one or two cars that don’t run on their lot. Time goes by and those cars are rusting faster than they’re being fixed.
I’m starting to get into making my own flies for fly fishing. It’s a ton of fun to buy like local feathers and shit but it does take up a lot of space and you’d be surprised at how expensive some of the materials can be
Personally, I’m skipping the Switch 2 because I used my Switch 1 like four times since its launch.
The Switch 2 will likely have games similar to ones that came before it, so if you haven’t been tempted into trying those, you probably won’t be into the new ones.
Like, I’d want the Switch 2 for Mario Kart World but then realized that I played Kart 8 like twice. Online play didn’t scratch the itch, my wife sucked at it, and it was hard to get a group IRL together to play often.
Maybe try emulating some of the older versions of games you’re interested in. It’ll at least give you an idea of how much fun you’d have on the newer versions.
Also ask yourself if you’re a handheld gamer. I don’t think I am which is why I also don’t use my steam deck ever.
