Lol arguably, you can actually walk around the interior of your ship in SC. The FPS portions are pretty good. But last time I played (like two years ago) I fell through a staircase.
I should give it another go soon.
I’m here because Lemmy.World keeps going down and Beehaw activity plummeted after defederating from the larger instances.

It’s still moving towards completion. At a snail’s pace but it’s moving. To their defense they’ve done some really cool tech with the game engine and stuff but idk if that justifies the timeline imo.
My money is spent regardless though, so I’ll zoom around in my leather interior ship whenever it does release.
Star Citizen might take the cake, I say as an original Kickstarter backer of Star Citizen.
bags of holding.
It’s true. The character in my current campaign has two bags of holding and a bag of devouring.
Yeah, they make their bridges available for self hosting if you want to go that route too! Or you can just use their service if you don’t want to mess with that (aka me lol).
Yeah, Beeper is what I use because I’m lazy. Having everything in one app so just too convenient.
Nice, some of my material is also ttrpg related so that’s especially helpful haha Thanks!
No doubt, this is the best mushroom book imo. It’s on my shelf as I type this.
It’s a terrible platform for minor authors.
Mind if I ask what a better option would be? Looking to release some work myself in the next year and was going to start looking at which options would be best.
Yeah, I’ll give that a try and see if they can increase storage per user and what I’d need to do to help with the load. I didn’t think to make the request on GitHub though, I’ll definitely check to see if anybody else made that suggestion/request and put it in if not.
That’s a good point, I’ll reach out to instance admins about that and see if that’s doable. Thanks for the suggestion!
Yeah, somebody else suggested that in another reply too. I’ll give that a go and hopefully that can address my issues with the platform. Thanks!
Running my own instance unfortunately isn’t a feasible option for me at this moment in my life. I’ll be looking into that in the future when I’m in a better spot but it’s not an option for a lot of creatives. I may have the technical knowledge to run and upkeep an instance but most artists aren’t that tech savvy. So this will remain a problem for Pixelfed attracting artists even if I run my own instance.
I wanted to pursue Pixelfed as an artist and post my work there but every instance I found seemed to have a 1GB storage limit which just isn’t super viable long term. Maybe if they have a way where individuals can link their own cloud storage service or something? If the instance owners don’t want to host all that media? That’s the main thing holding me back from investing more energy into that platform for now though. I’d love to be able to get away from Instagram but for artists it’s still pretty much required for anybody who wants to find clients (especially now with Twitter what it is).
Edit: some great suggestions in the replies, I’ll follow up with instance admins and see what solutions I can find that way. As well as looking into the request on GitHub mentioned by Gabe. Thank you everyone ☺️
I guess I am wondering why not just remove the insult comments as they broke the rules instead of nuking the whole thing?
My guess is that it’s just an equation of energy input and time spent. Is it worth removing the problem comments if they keep coming back? How much time as a mod are you willing to spend removing and banning people like that? I can understand taking the approach they did. Personally, I think maybe just locking the thread would’ve been a better compromise. But I’m not a mod here nor would I want to be lol
With games these days I just feel it’s a better deal. There’s stability patches, generally more content that’s added post-launch, and a sale price making it cheaper. I don’t understand buying games at launch when it’s not a primarily multiplayer game. Multiplayer makes sense since there’s the server population you have to consider. But Souls? Armored Core? Most RPGs? The multiplayer/coop is generally an afterthought, so I can wait until the deal ripens haha
Yeah, I was playing armored core back before From Soft got their recognition with the Souls series and so I’m really excited we’re getting this series back. But now, with all the lessons learned from the Souls series! I’m sure it will be great, it’s just I’m a patient gamer so will still likely wait until a sale 😂
I still like the idea of forks existing though, more variety is always good (I say, typing this from FF…)
Filing that info for later, thanks!
Love my lawful evil setup, works great!
