A solid, accessible guide for different desktop environments and window mangers is something that’s been needed for a long time. Or even just some kinda step by step to recreate an example setup would be super helpful to new folks and could help grow the community.
I think that’d be a plus given the migration to lemmy split things up and shrank the number of contributers here vs reddit.
That’s a damn fine URL. Thanks for sharing ❤️
Thats so fucking cool!!!
Just that it gives me a route that feels like it makes more sense. I’ve been trying out organic maps and OSMand lately in place of routes I would normally drive with google maps, and previously it had felt like OSMand had the better routing but organic maps had the better interface (though there are some aspects that are better with OSMand, namely the display/label for the next turn is a little crummy in organic maps) but lately the routing has been good enough in organic maps that I’ve been preferring to use it over OSMand. I can’t wait to see it continue to improve
Aw fuck yeah! I dont have android auto but thats still super cool. I’m loving the improvements to routing lately
Dope, thanks for sharing!
I had never heard of nova os before- thanks for sharing!
Thats a nice wallpaper, I like the colors
Lol, syrup would definitely be fun
I like toast honestly
Or the sweet ass cyberdecks people build
I kinda thought this conversation would eventually happen. I have mixed feelings on the subject but am generally inclined not to use the term myself as I find it distasteful. But I think there’s an important consideration for those who’d like to discontinue the term rice in this community: what language would we like to use instead? Specifically a good noun for referring to a given setup we’ve made. In therapy they teach you that stopping a behavior is a very hard thing to accomplish, and that instead you should always try to replace a behavior- I believe that idea is very relevant here
I’d be curious to hear people’s thoughts on what they’d like to use instead
I don’t know the answer, but I will engage with the post so that hopefully someone who does will see it :)
Do it! Community projects only happen when a community makes it happen. Developing an app that has to engage with someone else’s back end is difficult and they could probably use the help
If they don’t like your commit, you can ask them why in case its something easy to fix, and if you can’t make them happy then fork the project
Thanks for posting to let folks know about it! I’m curious to see what the new strategic plan and project priorities are
If you move sim racing, would you mind replying to me to let me know? I follow the current one just cause I think sim racing is neat. If it gets moved I’d love to follow the new one
(Totally fine if that’s too much work :)
