I’m doing that and generally the next step after that is : “OK, can you do it again and this time DO NOT CLOSE THE ERROR POPUP so we can get information on what is happening”

Plus your probably save on gas too.
Same thing, I’m mostly using the GPS on my phone but unless I try to always carry a paper map with me as a safety.
On the other hand I did took care of a pool for a while, it was in a villa that my in laws owned.
We did a few things that helped lowering the maintenance cost and the pool was pristine.
First thing is a salt chlorinator. It keeps a constant (low) chlorine level so the pool stays clean, there is no more chlorine smell and you only need to top up salt after too much rain.
Then we were using hardware store muriatic acid to bring the pH up and baking soda to control alkalinity. We still went to the pool store to get productd for the calcium hardness and cyanuric acid.
The last thing is a bit more involved but this is what made the biggest difference on the bill is to replace the pump with a DC pump directly connected to refurbished solar panels, no batteries, no inverter. This way when there is a lot of sun the pump is running a lot, a little sun and the pump is running a little.
It’s perfect since the amount of algae development is proportional to the amount of sunlight. There is almost no electronic in the system, just a extremely reliable DC pump and solar panels that can last for decades, I found that to be a great low-tech solution.
However we were in a tropical country, I have no idea if this would apply in another climate.
This was my criteria for buying a house : no pool !
I’m using both a the same time, one tab, two space, another tab…
This way everyone is happy.
I was thinking exactly that yesterday, I looked for a way to have few web apps without using ferdium.
Global clipboard synced with the smartphone thanks to KDE connect !
I understand you’re argument but I disagree. If the goal is to use FreeCAD then yeah, it’s probably better to start as a beginner.
If the goal is design parts using CAD then Onshape is a much better option in my opinion.
I would definitely recommend Onshape, this is what I use.
It’s great that FreeCAD exist but I would not recommend it for a beginner in CAD, there is a very steep learning curve before being able to create anything in it.
No,
There is all the backup of all my family pictures in the drives.
If something happens to me I want to make due that they will have access to it.
I never saw this video but I knew it was going to be technology connection before clicking on the link.
I liked the fact that it is really easy to self-host.
I tried it with friends on discord and in 10min I had a vps with a server running.
I don’t know if we can call it chemistry but quenching steel.
In high school I was doing blacksmithing and so quenching the blade was part of the process, probably my favorite part.
Heating the blade above 800°C and dipping it in oil, with the oil instantly catching fire was always very dramatic.
I don’t think they are available in the US but the Suzuki Jimny is the perfect off-road vehicle for me.
It’s an extremely fun vehicle to drive!
It’s a real story!

At the beginning of the 20th century Henry Ford’s electrical engineers had issues they could not solve with a gigantic generator. Henry Ford called Steimmetz, a genius mathematician working for GE to help them.
When he arrive at the factory he spent 2 days and night listening to the generator and scribbling on his notebook.
After that he asked for a ladder, climbed on it, put a chalk mark on a specific spot and explain to the engineers that they needed to remove the plate and replace sixteen windings behind the plate. After that the generator worked perfectly and Ford received a $10 000 bill.
Ford asked for an itemized bill and Steinmetz sent this
Ford paid the bill.
Someone needs to change something, this is exactly the purpose of opening an IT ticket.
