I am just curious what the state of android auto alternatives are at this point.

As much as I would like to use GrapheneOS I would find it quite hard to part with Android Auto / Apple CarPlay. I am not expecting Android Auto to be one of the apps to be available in sandboxed gapps, but I would like to see a viable alternative that is better than using OsmAnd with my phone mounted to the dashboard.

I have never checked but I believe it does? Regardless the infotainment is based off of Android 4.something so it would not be hard to hack it and cobble something together to get a browser sideloaded.

Mhh, I had seen apple Carplay running in a Tesla using the browser and an extra device. Maybe there is some software that lets you run a local server on your device and connect your car via hotspot?
