Apple just wrapped up its Wonderlust showcase, where it revealed an updated iPhone 15 lineup with USB-C, Dynamic Island, and more. Plus, we got a look at the...
watch 9 — now supports a pinch/tap gesture like Apple Vision
watch ultra — new faces
iPhone 15 — base phone gets dynamic island, no Promotion, 48mp 2x camera from 14Pro. USBC port at lightning speeds.
Pro camera upgrade, brushed titanium look, better GPU with ray tracing, and can record 3d video for Apple Vision. Pro Max gets a 5x zooom the other one doesn’t. Full USBC speeds.
I’m gonna be a bit nitpicky, so I’m sorry in advance.
USBC port at lightning speeds
I think that should say “USB C port at USB 2.0 speeds”. Apple likes to confuse people by using nonstandard terms. “Lightning” sounds like it is faster than the alternative, but it was actually slow the day it came out. Lightning uses USB 2.0 speeds, and I think it makes more sense to use a standard term when a standard is being used.
Full USBC speeds
I think that should says “USB 3.0 speeds”
There is no such thing as “USB C speed”. USB C is just the connector and can support a wide variety of speeds and protocols. Even Thunderbolt 3+ use USB C as the connector. This actually makes more sense when you think about other USB form factors. USB A also supports speeds of USB 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 3.1, etc.
USB C is the worst and I’ll fight anyone who disagrees. It’s nice having a universal cable, but the spec is garbage and the implementation is also garbage.
I think that’s about the highlights.

I apologize again for being this way.
To be fair the speed difference is crucial for the “direct record to external storage” feature. Not sure how often people would use it day to day.

I appreciate your pedanticism.
