Personally, I prefer Lemmy over Kbin because I hate karma and reputation points. I do not want to worry about downvotes, and Lemmy feels so fresh. I can post things that will receive lots of downvotes and not need to worry about losing karma.

I never cared about reputation/karma (I have around 400 points on 11 years of activity on Reddit), I always ignored user scores, and focused on post and comment scores.
The thing that was annoying was when you couldn’t participate on something because you didn’t have enough points.
