Not every country is like the us
Especially in Europe a lot of them try to better people instead of punishing them and many have special institutions for teenagers that are my like psychiatric wards than prisons

The problem is that without those exclusive deals noone would change
Most people didn’t buy EA games at origin or Ubisoft games at UPlay even though you needed those launchers anyway. They even didn’t buy CDProjekt games at gog despite the games being dem free there.
Excluding deals on sought after games is literally the only way to get a majority of the players moving away from there comfortable “I have ally games and friends there already” position
People are lazy and hate change - without force it’s not going to happen
No it won’t - people are lazy
Even CDProjekt sold many more copies on steam than GOG when you
Don’t tell me people are choosing the better deal when it’s all just steam having the might of “I have most of my games there already” on their side…
Let’s also not forget that game developers have no choice but to release on steam if they want to have any chance on breaking even since they have that huge of a market share and that Epic challenging that already lead to better deals for developers since Valve hat virtually free reign before
Can’t have the already well-off children go without their steady income that they didn’t have to work for…
No - I’m just saying that the delay in WIFI and the low framerate and small resolution of the screen makes the Steamdeck a sub-par choice for fast-paced games for me. It’s fine if you are only playing on that device but if you also have a desktop to play at it’s far worse imho
For me it’s not about fortnite but more about fast-paced multiplayer on the steam deck
When I played Rocket league on the deck instead of my Desktop with Lan, higher resolution and much higher framerate I always felt as if I’m playing much worse than I usually do which is not fun in the slightest
It’s a great console for singleplayer and more tactical multiplayer but whenever reading the screen in less than a second and reacting very fast to it in an online game is necessary that’s not great…
Yeah but afaik downloading in Germany isn’t against the law since it’s allowed to download a “backup copy” of things you actually own legally so it’s pretty much never enforced. The only way people in Germany get sued is for uploading but then a couple of bytes is already enough in many cases
My girlfriend got a legal claim for using stremio when her vpn failed which in Germany is only possible if you actively upload something so I’d say it does that
China is not a country that gives subsidies but a corporation that invests in branches it wants to grow
I’d imagine the situation is more dire to those filmmakers and journalists that do narration as a job
Why would you need them if you can just use the voice of an AI impersonating famous speakers like this
only works with very simple scripts though - I’d assume that checking for a ‘+’ in front of the ‘@’ and removing everything inbetween is very simple if your goal is to spam everyone from a data-leak
Recency bias at work
What would you expect “-1 month” to do for a date like 31st of March? Would the result be the same as for “-1 month” on 29th of March?
If you go back 2 months so the 31st is existing again - should that mean that the result of using -1 month twice should be different to using -2 months?
I think it’s just a stupid way to implement something like this as “month” isn’t a defined size so defining it with a fixed value and documenting it properly is a decent solution but noone should use that kind of function in the first place
There is a cloak that makes you wet when wearing it at the start of act 3 - I always use that to clean of blood after a fight
Even though I’m probably not reading it enough to be worth it I pay a yearly online-subscription to one of the newspapers that gained my trust with good investigative pieces in the past.
If everyone was just consuming for free then a newspaper needs to either be heavily funded by a really wealthy person that pays them (and in turn makes it less likely that said newspaper will report against people like that) or the newspaper needs to sell ad-space. So if you are consuming for free AND blocking ads on a website then you are only costing that website money - and in case of newspapers that’s not a good thing since it ensures that only those that are publicly funded or funded by billionaires will survive “almost unchanged” while the rest will try to get as populist as possible to the the most amount of clicks to increase their ad-revenue
Depending on the game I’d even do the opposite.
I don’t care for the 20th fight against bandits to be hard - but a boss should feel like more of a challenge and take more time to finish.
With how directly Control tied into the Alan Wake universe with their DLC being completely centered around it I’d be really surprised if they wouldn’t go even further now
I guess it depends on what pedophilia is in the end of how it’s developed.
If it’s more like a sexual preference then it’s probably there already when someone is born and not changeable, but if it’s more like a fetish then those are (afaik) related to experiences and exposures while growing up and actually can change and develop over time - and in that case it could be really dangerous to have that kind of material floating around freely.
Just because it’s the same doesn’t make it worse though - so it definitely is up there with the best game soundtracks of games from this year
