I’m not super worried about out of the box, I’m fine with fucking around for set up a bit, just not looking for anything crazy like arch lol. From what I’ve seen it looks like either Fedora 42 or bazzite with KDE. Is there a decent site that shows off the different options for DE’s and windows managers where I could look through the differences? New to all of this.

Is there a particular difference between KDE and Gnome? I’ve mostly seen “KDE looks like windows and Gnome looks like mac” but are there major differences outside of looks I would need to worry about?

Arch may be a little more than I would prefer because… just going to look at the site would take learning just what the fuck is going on. I don’t need constant crazy new stuff, I just want the GPU to work.

Been having this issue on like… every fucking image lately. I deleted the cache and that seems to help a little? But yeah I don’t understand, never had the issue on whatever the other app I used that’s no longer updated was.

Honestly I would be happy if they basically made it into a Tales Of game as that’s already got dual/triple techs basically, it’s got overworld vs regular maps. It is very close to what a more modern Chrono Trigger would be. I would rather keep the original battle system but I wouldn’t be too mad. They could add all the little party talking cutscene things like in those to add more stuff without having to go crazy on the story.

Weird to see them talk about how it’s related to secret of mana, which was almost FFIV, thus is basically a FF game but not just say “it was literally released under Final Fantasy Chronicles on PS1 so it’s basically a FF game.”

Haven’t played the full version but this was a very cute game. Very kingdom hearts like. Without the stupid convoluted story.

Didn’t it also have to change the soundtrack for some of it? It was just like recomposed or whatever but I remember it being something weird for legal reasons.

I would be down for a dirge of Cerberus type attempt at something new following Janus after he was thrown back in time into becoming magus, or following Glenn & Cyrus chasing after magus pre-frogenning. Doubt we get anything like that tho.

Yeah it was pretty bad at release, the smoothing was bad too. Fixed both how it looks and letting you disable it, and some other settings that were weird from what I remember.

3 times as actually “remastered” others were just ports. PS1, which got anime cutscenes, 3DS or DS I forget, which got added content, and most recently on PC which was just basically a port of the mobile port of the 3DS version but it did have a filter for pixel smoothing and I forget what else.

We also did get 2 albums. The brink of time jazz album and to far away times anniversary album.

Yeah, sad. Peace tea used to be fairly solid.

I mean, I could see if they tried to make this rent-to-own over 2-3 years. At half the price they’re offering.

But renting… where you’re paying over the entirety of the price in a single year, is fucking insane.

If renting, and updating it every 2 years, then for like 1/4th of the price then sure. I could see it being promoted how they are. Rent out older stock for 50% retail to at least get some value out of it while allowing people to pay ~$30 a month for a decent computer. (and then you could “upgrade” the lower tier with this to end up recouping 75% of retail over 4 years.)

But who the fuck is paying 10% of the cost a month to borrow an okay computer, even ignoring the full month cancelation fee, and ridiculous contract. (which is… ignoring a LOT.)

It is sad to see NZXT lowered to this as I used to have a decent view of them. They make some nice cases. CAM kinda lowered that view a bit, but I was in the beta for that and got a free water cooler out of it so I could overlook that (it’s improved a lot since beta, though it gathering data is still not great it’s less horrible than it was.). And pushing their own not as great products for the prebuilts still seemed okay for prebuilts for those scared to build on their own. But this is just… too much to overlook. Wild.
